The Power of Sister City Organizations

I talked to a Filipino friend of mine and he was telling me that’s what the Filipino community in Virginia Beach has been doing for decades.Building investment trade culture business ties between their homeland and the Cities of Virginia Beach and Norfolk. Not to sound like a downer Ronald and I have been looking into the Sister City connections between our region and Ghana.Nothing business like happening it’s  just culture exchange and pomp.So we want to change this but can we?Well the two cites under Sisters City agreement are Accra and Tema both port cites. We have the largest shipping port in North America in Norfolk VA.Tema and Accra would benefit if an agreement or MOU was signed. My Filipino buddy told me that is what several Philippines port cites have with Norfolk Shipyard and the state of Virginia brokered by the Filipino communities here.Everyone in the BAIO should investigate if their city has a Sister City program we can use as a means to build economic and cultural ties with Africa
